  1. I agree with Mr. Marsh – partly. If “Star Trek” was the only reason to name the Shuttle “Enterprise”, it would have been a poor choice. But the “Enterprise” in Star Trek is named Enterprise – and this probably did not happen out of a vacuum. The proud tradition of ships called Enterprise in the US Navy, which should also be a reason for the naming of the shuttle according to Mr. Marsh, has been supplemented by an enthusiastic inspiration for space exploration and science: Star Trek. And so it is both reasons Mr. Marsh stated, even if people only thought of Star Trek. Because Star Trek and its names and symbols doesn’t exist in a vacuum and neither did it come from a vacuum.
