Today, February 21st, is the 1st anniversary of startrekblog, and I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all of you that have made it possible.
I have a small but loyal following, plus the many hundreds of people that casually visit here every day, looking for their next Trek fix.
I have enjoyed bringing you some of the things that buzz around my head, keeping you up to date through the lead-up to the release of Star Trek Into Darkness, the Keeping Up With The Cardassians feature, QMx models, and other random Trek stuff.
I also have to thank Doug Drexler, the inspiration for me to start this blog in the first place with his massively popular Drex Files blog, which now resides on Facebook. Doug has given me some encouragement over the past 12 months and I appreciate his wisdom and Trek knowledge. Also Mike Okuda, Andrew Probert, Rick Sternbach and John Eaves deserve a mention as they have helped with a few things either directly or indirectly.
John Cooley at Anovos, the guys at the Official Star Trek Starships Collection, and all the various individual people who have contributed to the blog – Thank you to you guys too.
There are a few things to look forward to in the coming months, the Destination Star Trek Germany convention in Frankfurt, the live orchestral playing of the Star Trek 2009 movie along with the film itself at the Royal Albert Hall in London, plus other UK based conventions I may visit plus info from the US conventions via a network of friends I have covering those events.
