Today, in the future, 50 years from now, a Vulcan survey ship will pass through Earth’s solar system and detect the warp signature from the Phoenix, the first faster-than-light spacecraft launched from Earth and piloted by Zefram Cochrane.
The Phoenix was launched from a missile complex in Bozeman, Montana, USA and the Vulcan’ s landed their ship to greet the man who achieved this extraordinary technological milestone.
Star Trek: First Contact was the 1st full Next Generation movie featuring Picard, Riker, Data etc and was one of the best Trek movies ever, and the best TNG movie of all.
This movie had plenty of action, space battles, moral tales, revenge, emotion and a brand new USS Enterprise, the 1701-E Sovereign class starship.
It also had the Borg, Starfleet’s most deadliest foe with a new figurehead…the Borg Queen, who “controlled” the collective and who wanted to take back Locutus.
This weekend, the USS Fortitude is holding a small, intimate get together of UK Trek fans to celebrate Dawn of the Federation. Fans will have the opportunity to meet like minded people to make new friends, promote their own Star Trek Fan Clubs and to sell various Trek related items.
This small event will be held at the National Space Centre in Liecester.
From the organisers…
USS Fortitude proposes celebrating this with an unforgettable Event at the National Space Centre in Leicester.
We would like to see as many Star Trek fans in uniform/costume gathered on Saturday 6th April 2013.
It will be a unique opportunity for Trekkies and Trekkers to join together, have fun, meet with old friends and more importantly make First Contact with new ones.
Come join us from across the UK, be part of an event to remember!
Come back for follow-up news.
