It’s official, I love Star Trek! I love the movies, TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and even ENT. I love the moral stories, I love the characters, I love the aliens and I love the ships! I really love the ships and treknology in general.
There are loads of notable people regarding the look of Star Trek from the uniforms, the display panels and the ships, people like William Ware Theiss, Rick Sternbach, John Eaves, Robert Blackman, Doug Drexler, Andrew Probert etc etc.
One of my hobbies is to re-create some of the spectacular scenic art from the series, I especially like the pre LCARS display screens as seen on the Enterprise-A in the Final Frontier and the Undiscovered Country, and those on the Excelsior and the Enterprise-B. You can see a small selection on the right hand column of this blog.
I am also curious about those other props that we barely catch a glimpse of, such as dedication plaques, isolinear chips and general signage that can be seen on the doors and bulkheads.
This page will highlight some of the stuff I have been working on over the years. I am not a qualified graphic designer. I am self taught using various graphics programs with mixed results so some of my work can look a little amaturish but some of my stuff does look quite good.
If you are interested in this type of stuff then follow the blog, I will add some stuff as often as I can. There will be stuff here that you have probably already seen elsewhere, but there will be plenty of unique art too. I will also post some stuff done by other Trekkies that I have come to know through other Trek sites and I hope you will enjoy their work too.
